PROSE HELPDESK
The PROSE Helpdesk provides on-demand, short-term technical assistance to eligible entities, including public sector, private sector associations, and civil society entities. Through the Helpdesk, entities will be able to access the PROSE Team’s wide range of policy, technical and sectoral subject matter experts to advance initiatives related to CDM, Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM).
Our experts can provide agile technical assistance via a suite of technical resources, including tools, methodologies, and data, which are available and that can be tailored to incoming requests. When suitable, our experts also leverage regional approaches and best practices to maximize impact.
Policy
Resources
Supporting decision makers to integrate CDM and CCA approaches within policy, legal or regulatory frameworks by assessing potential gaps, sharing best practices, and enabling implementation.
Tools and Methodologies
Deploying proven CDM and CCA specific analytical, data collection, sector assessment, and community engagement tools and resources to strengthen policy and regulatory frameworks.
Training and
Development
Implementing capacity building efforts, including one-on-one advisory sessions, peer-to-peer learning seminars, and e-trainings.
Stakeholder
Engagement
Connecting government decision makers with private sector, civil society, youth, and vulnerable groups to ensure both participation of a wide range of stakeholders in the development of policy frameworks and increased stakeholder understanding of DRM and CCA.
PROSE Support Parameters
Technical assistance requests supported via the Helpdesk are short in nature and limited in scope, with completion generally within 1 or 2 months. Requests for support with a budget of up to $25,000 USD will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Requests should be associated with the provision of technical assistance in the development or enhancement of policies, laws, regulations and/or protocols pertaining to CDM or CCA. Requests solely involving logistics and/or travel support for CDM/CCA events will not be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
The following entities* are invited to contact the Helpdesk for more information:
- Public Sector Entities that are working to incorporate CDM/CCA approaches into policy, legal, and/or regulatory frameworks. Requests must be related to CDM or CCA policy/regulatory reform and may include training focused on capacity building and development of tools, as well as support in engaging private sector and/or civil society entities in CDM/CCA policy and regulatory reform.
- Private Sector Associations whose members are seeking to build climate resilience and disaster management into their operations. Requests must be related to CDM or CCA, including the provision of training or development of CDM/CCA guidelines or protocols focused on enhancing organizational or business sector resiliency. Request may additionally center around enhancing the role of the private sector in CDM/CCA public sector legislative reform.
- Civil Society Entities that represent vulnerable communities who desire to enhance their participation in disaster management and climate adaptation. Requests must be related to CDM or CCA, including the provision of training or development of CDM/CCA guidelines or protocols focused on enhancing organizational or community resiliency. Requests may additionally center around enhancing the role of civil society entities in CDM/CCA public sector legislative reform.
*Entities submitting applications must be located in one of the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
